Apple Brownies #1
1 stick margarine
1 c. sugar
2 med sized apples, sliced and cored and chopped
1/2 c chopped nuts
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
The Apples
Chopped Apples
Cream margarine. Add sugar gradually . Beat egg until light and beat into mixture until creamy. Mix in the chopped apples and nuts. Sift flour and measure .Sift together with baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Stir lightly into apple mixture.
Turn into a buttered 7 by 11 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40minutes.Place on a rack to cool.Cut into bars.

Applesauce Muffins
Applesauce Muffins
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups applesauce(Homemade Applesauce)
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup chopped walnuts, optional
Cinnamon-sugar, optional
In a bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Stir in applesauce. Combine the flour, baking soda and spices; stir into creamed mixture. Fold in nuts.
Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups three-fourths full. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks. Sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar if desired
